I've had a love of photography since my high school art classes in Cicero, NY. I went on to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a concentration in photography, at the University at Buffalo. During my senior year I did a summer internship apprenticing a wedding photographer, and found a whole new way to use the medium.

 

I created SMK Photography in 2003 because of my passion for photography, and because it brings me great joy to work closely with people at such exciting moments in their lives. I'll laugh with you, I may cry with you, and I get pretty excited when I am photographing you! The primary focus of SMK Photography is site-specific photography of families, children, weddings, and events.

 

I live in Irondequoit, NY with my husband Rob and our Boston Terrier, Rocko. During the week I teach art to middle schoolers (yes, I am crazy!) in the Pittsford Central School District. Having been given the opportunity to teach photography at the high school level, my experience has come full circle.
